Launch Notifyr

FAQ

LaunchNotifyr is a service that sends notifications about SpaceX Starship prototype milestone activities, specifically launches and engine test fires at Launch Pad A in Boca Chica, Texas (Starbase). When SpaceX sounds their 10-minute warning siren before a launch or engine test, LaunchNotifyr sends subscribers notifications containing links to live streams from multiple sources, including SpaceX, Everyday Astronaut, LabPadre, and NASASpaceflight, so that these activities can be observed in real-time without waiting around all day.

Simply put, we reliably alert you to the big moments with no work on your part.

There are two types of notifications:
  • Email notifications: Available to all users, including free tier
  • SMS/Text notifications: Available to paid subscribers

SMS/text notifications are vastly superior to app-based push notifications and provide immediate, reliable alerts without the typical drawbacks of app and OS based push notifications. Key advantages include:
  • No app installation required - works with your phone's built-in SMS/text messaging
  • Zero impact on battery life - no background processes running
  • Always active - no need to open or update an app (Phone OS by default can put apps into a deep sleep/disable mode, which prevents notifications)
  • Universal compatibility - works seamlessly across all mobile devices

  • SpaceX

  • LabPadre
  • NASASpaceflight

Please note, not all live streams are active for every event. The link page will only contain links to streams that are currently live.

Notifications are sent immediately after SpaceX sounds their siren, which happens approximately 10 minutes before a launch or engine test. Due to the nature of limited to no infomation provided by SpaceX, we make a best effort attempt to provide these notifications. Some notifcations may be sent with less than 10 minutes notice due to the unpredictable nature of SpaceX testing.

Due to the policies of e-mail providers (outside the control of LaunchNotifyr) some e-mails may arrive late or even not at all. LaunchNotifyr meets and even exceeds the state of the art e-mail delivery requirements, unfortunately this still does not guarantee delivery as every e-mail provider we've encountered has a certain level of so called 'black box' policies which make it impossible to know for sure an e-mail will be delivered or even timely.

It is recommended to add no-reply@launchnotifyr.com to you contact list or address book. This will greatly increase the likelihood you receive the notifcation e-mails as this explicitly tells your e-mail provider you want these e-mails.
